As with any other “office romance,” celebrities take a risk when they decide to date the people they work with. If the pair breaks up (and so many of them do), they often still have to see each other on set every day.
Here is a look at 14 celebrity couples who still had to work together after their real-life romances went south.
1. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
Both actors were relative unknowns when they landed their iconic roles – Stewart had broken into Hollywood with roles in “Speak” and “Panic Room”.
While Pattinson’s most notable credential was playing Cedric Diggory in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.”
Before the pair was cast in the first “Twilight” film, they met at director Catherine Hardwicke’s house and auditioned with the vampire flick’s famous kissing scene.
Their chemistry was instantly obvious, and both actors landed their parts then and there. Over the next several years, it became obvious that something was going on off-screen between Pattinson and Stewart, but they kept their relationship very hush-hush.
Eventually, the relationship between “Robsten” became one of the worst-kept secrets in Tinseltown, and rumors swirled that they were engaged or even secretly married. Everything came crashing down in July 2012, however, when Stewart was photographed kissing her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders. Pattinson moved out of the pair’s shared home, and the future of the relationship was left up in the air.
Even though filming had wrapped on the fifth vampire film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part II,” by the time the news of the cheating scandal broke, its stars were forced to take their icy relationship to the red carpet in order to do press for the movie. The two have been on-again, off-again ever since, but sources claim that they have recently called it quits for good.
