Christina Aguilera, one of the biggest names in the music industry, gave birth to her second child, a baby girl who was named Summer Rain Rutler. This is Christina’s first child with fiancé Matt Rutler.

The songstress welcomed a baby daughter into the world via C-section on Saturday in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old checked into her private and deluxe birthing suite at Cedars Sinai after arriving at the hospital with Matt at 8am.

Christina is already a mother to six-year-old son Max from her previous marriage to Jordan Bratman.

The pair married in 2005 and split five years later, with their divorce being finalized in April 2011. Christina and Matt announced they were expecting a baby together in February, a week after sharing news of their engagement in February.

The pop singer recently shared a photo which showed her in the studio on Monday, tenderly placing headphones against her huge baby bump. She captioned the photo with “Baby girl getting first listen to what mama’s been creating in the studio.”

Christina posed nude while heavily pregnant for the August issue of V magazine and is said to be planning on stripping off again to show off her post-baby body. Sources say that she wants to do Playboy, and that is something she wanted to so even before she got pregnant. Christina did always love her body.

Aguilera tweeted on Monday “So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world,” and thus announced the news herself.

The pop singer says it “isn’t easy” balancing her career with motherhood. “Kids are really wonderful but they take effort, they take time,” she said. “Max makes me laugh and he reminds me of the simple yet important things in life. Sometimes that balancing act isn’t easy; I am not going to lie. But it is worth it and I know any mom would say the same. I am no different from any parent out there. He is just starting to understand that the songs he hears may be my voice. But I don’t think he really gets it yet. And that’s fine by me.”

Christina Aguilera is skipping season 7 of the hit show “The Voice” but will be back on season 8.

Congratulations!
