Nadine Coyle has been stigmatized as the reason for the breakup of one of Britain’s most successful girl groups, “Girls Aloud.” In a recent interview she tried to set the record straight, saying that, in reality, she was the only member of the group desperate to keep the quintet together.
Informing the star about their decision just minutes before the group was due on stage, Nadine refused to sign a contract formalizing their separation. She still has not signed it to this day.
Coyle says that she simply didn’t want the band to end. According to Nadine, on the very last night of the tour, their management and publicist came up to her and said the girls wanted to split up the band. She was shocked.
“I was already in hair and make-up, about to get into my costume, and the show was starting in 20 minutes. I was shocked. I screamed and cried on stage and off stage.”
Coyle says that she continued to be dramatic for about 15 minutes and then she was “over it again.” She refused to be sad about it.
When she got back to Los Angeles, she learned that the other members of the group said that she knew about the split and that she wanted it. “They’re going to have to get their stories straight and figure that one out because my one has been solid! The truth remains pretty solid.”
In her recent autobiography, Kimberley Walsh confirmed Nadine’s reluctance about the split, admitting that Nadine refused to sign any press release. In fact, she refused to sign any of the formal paperwork confirming the group’s demise meaning, technically, “Girls Aloud” are still together.
“I need holograms made up of them so I can go back out on stage in 30 years time…!”
Coyle is still unaware of reason behind the group’s breakup and says that there are not in good terms. The 29-year-old singer says she doesn’t know why are the fans shocked about the girls’ relationships. “I don’t know why people are shocked I wasn’t at Cheryl’s wedding… I mean, were you at Cheryl’s wedding?”
Coyle concluded the story by saying that she doesn’t have anything against the other girls.
