Sharknado 2 Breaks The Record For Most Talked About Thing On Twitter

Sharknado

“Sharknado 2: The Second One” has made its debut on Wednesday and in a matter of a few days completely took over Twitter like a tornado (get it?)!

The sequel of the critically acclaimed “Sharknado 2” is the topic everyone’s talking about.

It is estimated that a billion (that’s with a “b”) impressions or conversations which involve the movie took place in Twitterland.

“Sharknado: The Second One” dominated the top 10 trending topics in America and it was mentioned more than Miley Cyrus’ 2013 MTV VMA performance and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West during their wedding day.

And we thought that could never happen.

The sequel became the most-watched original movie ever on the SyFy network with 3.9 million views. That’s 2 times the ratings the first part received.

The plot of the movie involves sharks terrorizing New York this time around, due to an absurd meteorological disaster. It seems that just because something isn’t meant to be taken seriously, doesn’t mean that it can’t claim critical success.

“Sharknado 3” will be terrorizing another unsuspected city in the summer of 2015.
